How to pick a perfume you can't smell first
Buy online what you already know. For a new scent, try it in a mall first, or start with a travel size or a discovery set if the store sells one.
Read the notes, not the name. If you like a scent with oud, amber and rose, look for those three in the description of the next one. Names and bottles tell you nothing.
Check the concentration. An eau de parfum lasts longer than an eau de toilette, and an oil lasts longer than both. A cheaper bottle that fades by lunch isn't a deal.
For gifts, oud and musk are the safe bets in Saudi. Sweet or very fresh scents split opinion.
Capped or uncapped: which code to use on an expensive bottle
On a big order, look at the cap before the percentage. A capped code stops growing past a certain total, so on a pricey designer bottle or a large oud order it ends up taking off a lot less than the headline number suggests.

Before you pay
