Two worlds sit side by side here. One is oud, musk, amber and bakhoor: heavy, long-lasting scents, often layered, and bought in sets for Eid, weddings and visits. The other is designer eau de parfum, the same bottles you'd see in any airport.
Plenty of people own both. A designer bottle for the office, an oil or an oud blend for evenings and family gatherings. For designer bottles, the discount usually comes from the store's sale rather than the brand.

How to make sure it's the real thing
Where do you buy cheap original perfume in Dubai? Cheap and original rarely go together by much. A designer bottle at half the usual price from an unknown seller is a warning, not a deal.
On a marketplace, check who's selling. A listing sold and shipped by the platform itself is safer than a third-party seller with few reviews. Look at the box too. A cellophane wrap, a batch code printed on the bottom and a matching code on the bottle are good signs.
Testers are a grey area. They're usually genuine stock sent to shops for sampling, sold without a cap or in a plain box. Fine for yourself. Not for a gift.
With Arabic perfume houses the question mostly goes away: buy on the brand's own site and you know what you're getting.
How to pick a bottle
Concentration matters more than the name. Eau de parfum lasts longer than eau de toilette, and in UAE heat a lighter scent can be gone by lunch. If a fragrance comes in both, the EDP is often worth the extra.
Bigger bottles are nearly always cheaper per ml. If you already know you love a scent, the 100ml beats two 50ml bottles every time. If you don't, buy the small one or a sample set first.
For oud and oils, smell before you commit if you can. They change a lot on skin over a few hours, and what you smell on a card in the first minute isn't what you'll smell at dinner.
Buying perfume as a gift
Scent is personal, so a gift is a bit of a gamble. A few things lower the odds of getting it wrong.
If you don't know their taste, oud and bakhoor are the safer pick for family and hosts. They're used around the house as much as worn, so nobody minds getting a second set.
For a designer bottle, find out what they already wear and buy that, or something from the same family. A favourite in a bigger size is never a wasted present.
And keep the box sealed. An unopened bottle can usually be exchanged; an opened one almost never.
When to buy perfume in the UAE
November's the best month. The 11.11 sale falls on Wednesday, 11 November 2026, and plenty of stores cut beauty and fragrance prices that day.
Then comes White Friday on Friday, 27 November 2026. noon's version is Yellow Friday, which runs from 19 to 30 November with the 27th as its biggest day. Our White Friday guide has the other stores.
If you're buying for family, Ramadan and Eid are the other big perfume moments. Ramadan's expected to start in early February 2027. Buying in November and putting the bottle away is often cheaper than waiting.
